I created Wonderlove by Amy Ortiz as a space to celebrate my family clients—capturing connection, tenderness, and the beautiful mess of raising families.

Based in Asheville, NC.

I was born and raised in these Blue Ridge Mountains (a true farm girl), and live with my husband (a true Mexican cowboy) and our two young children. We love absolutely adore living on a farm in Fairview, NC (just 15 minutes outside Asheville) raising a Mexican American family grounded in nature, culture, and farm animals. My days are filled with muddy boots, homemade tortillas, golden hour light, playing in creeks, and the sweet chaos of motherhood—and that realness deeply shapes my work.

With over a decade of experience as a professional photographer—and nearly two decades with a camera in hand—I studied commercial, studio, and editorial photography at Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. My goal is to create timeless family portraits that feel natural, nostalgic, and deeply personal—whether we’re running through meadows, baking in your kitchen, or exploring your favorite wild places—with an editorial aesthetic in mind.

While I’m currently focused on family portraiture, I still take on a limited number of weddings and elopements each year. For a selective handful of wedding clients each year… I am available for last minute elopements, small intimate ceremonies, and destination weddings in far away lands.love weddings of every kind, whether they are large and festive; or small or intimate. I will happily climb on top of a mountain, run through meadows, or navigate through a busy city with you.
